Remembering John: We are privileged he chose to be by our side

We will always be grateful for John’s passion and commitment to help us advance integrative cancer care. John shared our mission. We are so honoured and privileged that he chose to be by our side.
John was among Ottawa’s most esteemed entrepreneurs, having led many notable companies to great heights. He was a brilliant tech pioneer focused on leading innovation. He was a wonderful family man, cared deeply about his employees, and was completely devoted to serving the Ottawa community. John was driven to make a difference in the lives of others.

John chaired our Community Advisory Board and was among many beloved community leaders and board members whom have gone before him including Rabbi Bulka, Richard Patten, Max Keeping and Steve Lerner.
John also recruited former OICC patient and General Manger of the Ottawa Senators, Bryan Murray, to be Honourary Chair for our campaign “Changing How We Live With Cancer.”
We are so grateful and honour all of these distinguished individuals in our memory.
“What really motivates me is how the OICC is committed to working alongside, and together with, conventional cancer care professionals and researchers.
“The OICC is not advocating an alternative approach to cancer treatment. Rather, a collaborative and innovative approach, that brings the best of both complementary and conventional care together, to provide patients with enhanced quality of life, reduced side effects and possibly extended life.
“Through integrative oncology the OICC is filling a gap within the cancer care system. When I hear patients’ stories I see the tremendous impact the Centre is having on those living with cancer. I am inspired to help grow the Centre, to ensure anyone who faces cancer has access to this complementary care.” – John Kelly
