The Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre Transitions to Become The Centre for Health Innovation
We Are Expanding into General Healthcare and Opening a New Facility in the New Year
Nearly 10 years ago, the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre (OICC) opened its doors as the first integrative and cancer care research centre in Eastern Canada. The OICC has operated as a regional centre of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) to develop and research an integrative model of care for cancer patients.
Today, we are excited to announce the clinic portion of the OICC is ready to start a new chapter in its growth. The OICC is transitioning to independence, expanding care beyond cancer and moving to a new location within Ottawa!
The Centre for Health Innovation (The CHI) and its healthcare team will continue to provide integrative, supportive cancer care, while expanding the clinic to meet the needs of many other health challenges faced by people today.
In addition to cancer care, we will be supporting those challenged with other chronic and acute health care needs including mental health, thyroid health, women’s health, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune conditions, obesity and more.
General health promotion, improved quality of life, disease prevention and management, lifestyle counselling and group support, will continue to underpin everything we do.
Our healthcare team is committed to be, and help you discover, Your key to good health!
The CHI is the vision of Dr. Dugald Seely, ND, MSc., who also founded the OICC in 2011. While this new clinic will operate separately from CCNM, the collaborative research arm between these institutions will continue to help shape the future of naturopathic and integrative medicine in Canada. Dr. Seely, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The CHI, will be remaining on staff at CCNM as the Executive Director of its Research & Clinical Epidemiology division, along with his Ottawa and Toronto-based research team.
“I am excited to see the OICC clinic move into the next phase of its operation,” said Bob Bernhardt, President and CEO for CCNM. “It was born in 2011, expanded its reach and reputation in the intervening years, and is now transitioning to independence.”
Stay tuned for more details on our transition and move! Rest assured we will be keeping you updated through our clinic, e-newsletter, social media, and please visit our new website! www.thechi.ca
