Playback Theatre Fundraiser

Playback Theatre presents!

Shock and Resilience:
Real Stories About Cancer

Friday, May 22, 2026

7:00 - 8:30 pm

Champlain Fieldhouse
140 Carleton Avenue
(entrance on Cowley Avenue),
Ottawa

This fundraiser supports supports Yoga Therapist Anne Pitman's new program at the Centre for Health Innovation: Fear of Cancer Recurrence and Progression.

Playback theatre is a form of improvisational theatre where audience members are welcome to share their own stories and watch them "played back" by actors and a musician. The actors do not simply re-enact the story, but use sound and movement to illustrate the essence of the story. At the May 22nd event there will be opportunities (but no obligation) to share your own story about cancer.

Hear from Anne Pitman

The evening will begin with Anne Pitman introducing the Playback Theatre troupe and speaking about the impact of the pilot Fear of Recurrence and Progression program. Anne will also share what’s coming next, as plans take shape for the Fall program supported by this fundraiser.

Tickets are $21.50

Further donations gratefully accepted at the door.

Many thanks to the Ottawa Playback players
for offering this fun, authentic and engaging evening!
