Cancer Care - Psychotherapy

Jennifer Turner is a registered Psychotherapist with an M.A. in Counselling Psychology and a focus on integrative care and respectful individual and group work to support the challenges of illness, the hope of healing, uncertainty, end of life needs, and grief work. She has specialized certification in health and
lifestyle coaching, cancer coaching and navigation, mindfulness, and supporting the challenges of living with cancer, and dealing with dying.  She is also an experienced pastoral care provider, and is very privileged to be able to walk with individuals and their loved ones at the most challenging of times.

Integrative cancer counselling respects the interaction between mind, body and spirit and is care of the entire human being - it is about more than physical survivorship. Counselling uses each patient’s experiences and definitions of health and well-being as a starting point to enhance well-being by providing hope, information and support, as well as practical skills to navigate their cancer experience. Jennifer supports people to understand their options, make informed decisions, find how how to best work with their health care system.

As a cancer patient herself, she has learned how our culture often fails to support the space and opportunity to consider the full continuum of life and death - with all the sacred meaning, joy and grief that this often entails. Jennifer is committed to supporting individuals through this experience and to provide opportunities for people to talk freely of their needs, fears and hopes and explore the healing and growth available to them - reducing fear and feelings of isolation.

Karoline-Diana Achille
is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario. She uses an integrative approach: solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and psychodynamic therapy to help her clients find solutions and face challenges that negatively impact their lives. Karoline speaks both French and English and can practice psychotherapy in both official languages. She has experience working with marginalized and vulnerable populations (ex: Family Services Ottawa, Bruyère Geriatric Hospital), in addition to working in private practice. Her values are rooted in respect, authenticity, and integrity. Her aim as a psychotherapist is to have a meaningful impact on individuals' lives. She believes that by unpacking our past and exploring how it relates to our present lives, we can unlock a future that promotes a healthy mental well-being.

During your first session together, she will focus on building a safe space to figure out your needs and clarify your therapeutic goals. Her objective is to develop a deeper understanding of who you are, what brought you to therapy, your history, your struggles, and your goals moving forward. She will answer all your potential questions and concerns about the process of psychotherapy. Her hope is to facilitate understanding, empowerment, and strategies through an open shared experience in therapy.

Karoline Achille is supervised by a clinical psychologist, most major insurance companies should be able to cover the sessions. Please make sure your insurance covers psychological services.

“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.”
