What to Expect

Psychotherapist, Jennifer Turner, is very committed to providing group work for cancer patients who are challenged to learn to live with uncertainty, and in the spaces between all the disruptions and fear that a cancer diagnosis creates. When people are able to gather and share these feelings and experiences - community is created and people feel less isolated. Often patients feel pressured by well-meaning loved ones to be “positive” at all times. It is important to have a guided and supported place where everyone “gets it” and genuine growth can occur.

Community Feedback

I am so grateful for the opportunity to attend the Living With Uncertainty support group. This group, and Jennifer’s wise and knowledgeable support, has been my lifeline at this difficult time.  I appreciate that as a cancer patient yourself, you really are able to walk with us.  - P.W

Living with Uncertainty has been very important to me. Hearing that other people have had similar experiences has helped me to feel less isolated and less fearful.  Jennifer has given me much needed guidance to navigate the healthcare system and to manage all the emotions that my diagnosis and treatment have brought up. Sharing our experiences, coping strategies and knowledge has been so valuable and appreciated. - J.G

I first attended this support group to help me manage my panic and overwhelming anxiety about my cancer diagnosis.  Little did I know that I would learn so much about life, hope, and community.  Thank you Jennifer for your unwavering support and knowledge. - B.B

My husband and I were really struggling with a challenging diagnosis, side effects, depression and juggling family priorities.   We were feeling more and more disconnected.  Living with Uncertainty support group helped us to have a place to feel supported and to learn really valuable skills to create a "new normal" and move forward as a team.  The group is so informative, supportive and unique.  Thank you for creating this safe space for all of us.  Your warm humour and skill are much appreciated.  – CB
